Major Departments and Projects

The major development activities implemented under various officers and their expenditure are classified in the report as follows:

1. Agriculture Department (Agriculture Officer)

Various projects were implemented to increase agricultural production, including:

  • Promotion of tuber crops.
  • Agricultural mechanisation and distribution of irrigation pump sets.
  • Promotion of spice and fruit tree cultivation.

Total Expenditure: Approximately ₹15,42,630 was allocated/spent for various projects under this category.

2. Animal Husbandry Department (Veterinary Surgeon)

Funds were allocated for the development of the dairy and animal husbandry sector.

Major activities included:

  • Construction of cattle sheds.
  • Goat-rearing scheme, including a special allocation for the SC category.
  • Purchase of medicines for veterinary hospitals.

3. Health Department (Medical Officers)

Funds were allocated for public health, Homoeopathy and Ayurveda.

Major activities included:

  • Implementation of national health programmes through PHC/CHC.
  • Expenditure for the purchase of medicines for Homoeo and Ayurvedic dispensaries.

4. Social Welfare (VEO / ICDS Supervisor)

The report includes extensive projects for the welfare of women, children and persons with disabilities.

Major activities included:

  • Scholarships, travel allowances and distribution of uniforms to persons with physical and mental disabilities.
  • Purchase of equipment, chairs and other items for Anganwadis.
  • Construction of Anganwadi buildings and compound walls at Kampanthanam, Nongal, Orvayal and Navodaya Anganwadis.
  • Source-level waste management projects.
  • Repayment of housing loans and additional assistance under the EMS Housing Scheme.

5. Infrastructure Development (Assistant Engineer – LSGD)

This category mainly covers road construction and other infrastructure development activities.

Road Concreting/Tarring: A substantial amount was spent on concreting various rural roads in the Panchayat. Examples include:

  • Kattikkal–Kunnu Vetty Road
  • Elakkadiyathi–Cheruvalikkavu Road
  • Laksham Veedu Colony Road
  • Alungalpady–Muttekkunnu Road
  • And several other rural roads.

Other major infrastructure projects included:

  • Renovation and concreting of Pampady Bus Stand.
  • Development of the Pampady Public Market site.
  • Drinking water projects, including the Choorakkatti and Kannukulam water supply projects.
  • Purchase and installation of street lights.
  • Electrification of the Panchayat Office.
  • Purchase of computers for the Panchayat Office.

Summary

This is a project implementation report focusing on the agriculture, health, social welfare and infrastructure development sectors of Pampady Grama Panchayat. The figures and projects in the report indicate that priority was given to road development, drinking water supply, housing, Anganwadi development and other essential infrastructure, with the objective of improving the living standards of the local population.
