Tree Committee

🌿 Panchayat-Level Tree Committee

A Tree Committee has been constituted at the Panchayat level to protect trees standing on public roads and public places and to prevent accidents caused by hazardous trees or branches. Tree Committees at the Panchayat level have been constituted in accordance with Local Self-Government Department Circular No. 248/RC3/2016/LSGD dated 14.07.2017. The committee functions to avoid delays and to take timely decisions in emergency situations.

📋 Major Responsibilities

🌳 Assessing Risk

Inspect whether trees or branches pose any danger or create a risk to the public.

🛡️ Ensuring Public Safety

Take necessary action in cases involving trees that pose a threat to human life or property.

🏡 Regulation of Private Trees

Issue necessary directions and initiate legal action, wherever required, in relation to private trees.

📊 Valuation

Arrange for the valuation of trees proposed to be cut or removed through the Forest Department.

🌍 Environmental Protection

Ensuring a Safe Environment: The Panchayat-Level Tree Committee functions with the objective of ensuring both public safety and environmental protection, while protecting trees and maintaining a safe environment.
