Organizational Structure

President

The President is the chief administrative authority of the Panchayat. The President provides leadership for the development activities and administrative functions of the Panchayat.

Vice President

The Vice President assists in the administrative activities of the Panchayat. In the absence of the President, the Vice President performs the administrative responsibilities.

Standing Committees

Standing Committees are committees responsible for overseeing various areas such as development, finance, health, education and welfare activities of the Panchayat.

Development Standing Committee

The Development Standing Committee implements the development projects of the Panchayat, with a focus on public welfare and infrastructure development.

Finance Standing Committee

The Finance Standing Committee is responsible for managing the revenue and expenditure of the Panchayat.

Health & Education Standing Committee

This committee is responsible for overseeing the health and education-related activities of the Panchayat.

Welfare Standing Committee

The Welfare Standing Committee implements public welfare programmes, focusing on social security and welfare activities.

Other Sub-Committees

These are committees formed to undertake activities in specific areas and to provide support for various projects.

Panchayat Secretary

The Secretary is the principal administrative officer of the Panchayat. The Secretary coordinates office activities and file-related procedures.

Assistant Secretary

The Assistant Secretary assists in the administrative and office functions of the Panchayat. The Assistant Secretary also functions as the Member Secretary of Kudumbashree and coordinates various welfare programmes. The officer also has responsibilities for implementing Scheduled Caste development programmes.

Junior Superintendent

The Junior Superintendent supervises the day-to-day office activities of the Panchayat. The officer coordinates office procedures and the functioning of various sections and provides supervision and control over the activities of employees.

Accountant

The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial transactions and accounts of the Panchayat. The Accountant prepares and maintains income and expenditure accounts and organizes budget, tax and other financial records.

Senior Clerk

The Senior Clerk is responsible for supervising office records and administrative procedures. The Senior Clerk coordinates the functioning of various office sections and oversees the examination and processing of important files.

Clerk

The Clerk is responsible for handling Panchayat files and records. The Clerk deals with tax collection, applications and office registers and performs ward-level responsibilities and service-related activities.

Office Attendant

The Office Attendant assists with the day-to-day activities of the Panchayat office. The duties include transferring documents, maintaining office arrangements and providing general support for office activities.


Brief Description of Major Components

1. Gram Sabha

The Gram Sabha is the general assembly of the people of the Panchayat. It discusses development projects, public needs and welfare activities and makes recommendations regarding them.

2. Grama Panchayat Committee

The Grama Panchayat Committee is the governing body consisting of elected representatives. It oversees the development and administrative affairs of the Panchayat.

3. President & Vice President

The President and Vice President are the principal administrative leaders of the Panchayat. They provide leadership for the administrative functions of the Panchayat.

4. Standing Committees

Standing Committees are specialized committees functioning in areas such as development, finance, health and education, welfare and other important sectors.

5. Panchayat Secretary

The Panchayat Secretary is the principal administrative officer of the Panchayat. The Secretary coordinates office activities, file processing and overall administrative functions.
